I took a vacation

Each day this fellow, or perhaps lady, and a gaggle of other geese and goslings greeted me if I chose to leave the building.

When I first arrived I thought the facility permitted pets. Further, I thought nasty pet owners had not learned the 'scoop your pets poop' message.

Turns out the geese and their goslings wandering freely are leaving their trail - everywhere. I'll spare the picture of that - hard to believe this lovely bird and these cute little fluffy birds could leave such a mess!

This was a rest and rejuvenate 'weekend' for me. Weekend equaled Sun/Mon nights, traveling to Williamsburg on Sunday, checked in 4 PM in the rain. Terrible storms in surrounding areas, it rained and blew a bit here and rained on and off all day Monday.

My plan was to stay put and I brought lots of things to do:

I did venture to Knitting Sisters and picked up some needles, and some lovely yarn. Got a bit lost on the way. Met a lovely officer of the law that was checking cars taking the Jamestown Ferry. I didn't want the Jamestown Ferry, so he redirected me path to the yarn store.

Some things I worked on:

Teaching myself Magic Loop. I would have finished the little sock, but I left my pattern at home!

I swatched for a sweater I want to make for me. Stitch gauge is good, row gauge is not so good. But the material is lovely, so I'll be figuring out how to adjust for it.

I was also working on my secret of the stole (Guenivere):

I checked out on Tuesday, my 49th Birthday, and it was a beautiful day. A lovely drive, but I really wanted that kind of day on Monday! :( So, I'll try again for a better and slightly longer weekend in the Fall.

The color you are using for Guinevere is really pretty! I like your combination of yarn and bead choice.
